The ability to recruit and retain such talented people is increasingly the principal differentiating factor between organizations that are market leaders and other ordinary companies/organizations. Sometimes popularly referred to as 'Head-Hunting', executive search is internationally recognized as a key resource in the competition for talented and performing individuals by ambitious and forward-looking organizations. There are two types of executive recruiters; retained and contingent. Workforce has both divisions: Retained Executive Search FirmRetained executive search consulting services WSG is retained by clients to provide a broad consultancy-based service that ultimately results in the introduction of capable and talented candidates for placement in key positions. WSG utilizes a state-of-the-art process to achieve this objective. In consultation with the client, WSG develops comprehensive in-depth understanding of the position to be filled and the culture of the client. WSG designs specific research project to demarcate the universe of candidate best suited for the position. The candidates identified would possess rather remarkable qualities and are not usually seeking a change of position. WSG then conducts candidates' qualification and development through extensive interviewing in preparation for candidates' introduction to the client. WSG provides through reservoir of knowledge and experience; counseling and expert advice to client and candidates to assist them in achieving agreement and closure. WSG exclusively adopts the retainer principle for consultancy services rendered, as is the case of management consulting or legal profession, to assure focus of the search and upon the task of finding the best possible solution and to prevent conflict-of-interest issues. Contingency Search (or Recruiting)Contingency (or conventional) search/recruitment is a recognized professional service offered by WSG that addresses a specific market need, which is different from Retained Executive Search. WSG's contingency search tends to address lower-and middle-management positions, where there are likely to be a larger universe of suitably qualified candidates and where the skills required are of a generic nature. Selection of candidates is undertaken from a randomly compiled candidates' universe as opposed to scrupulous demarcation of a specific candidates' universe for each search project as is the case with retained executive search. The client pays fees to WSG only when client actually hires a candidate introduced by WSG. Executive SearchRetained executive search is a management consulting service also offerd by WSG. WSG is contracted (or retained) by a client organization to conduct a management consulting project to identify, locate and recruit an individual with a particular skill set and an experience profile to fill a specific staffing need within the client company. Retained executive search differs from contingency recruiting in several key
ways. In a retained executive search, WSG's work is
bound by a commitment to the client company to produce the best overall result,
not simply to "fill a job". Retained executive search is generally
the preferred technique for finding executives for the senior levels of the
management team, or for more highly specialized positions. By comparison,
contingency recruiting is generally confined to less demanding situations where
the specific expertise of a retained executive search firm is not as
compelling. While there are many fine contingency recruiting organizations, the
economic structure of contingency recruiting frequently places expedience ahead
of diligence, thoroughness and deliberate, considered judgment. |
